2024 Fudan University Digital Governance Summer Institute – Highlights
Fudan Digital Governance Summer Institute combined course training, field research, personalized guidance, teamwork and competition with renowned scholars from both China and abroad serving as mentors and lecturers, including Marijn Janssen, full Professor in ICT & Governance and Head of the Information and Communication Technology section of the Technology, Policy and Management Faculty of Delft University of Technology; Mila Gasco-Hernandez, the Research Director of the Center for Technology in Government as well as an Associate Professor at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, both at the University at Albany – SUNY; Lei Zheng, Professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University, Director of Digital and Mobile Governance Lab, and a Chief Expert of China National Social Science Fund; and Yueping Zheng, Associate Professor and Ph.D. advisor at the School of Government at Sun Yat-sen University.
At the Summer Institute, the participants not only experienced the power of digital governance up close, but also explored the real-world implications of integrating technology into governance, paying attention to its limitations and impact on humans. They engaged face-to-face with scholars in the field of digital governance, opened up to global perspectives while diving into Chinese local practices; and met fellow participants from around the world, creating infused and innovative solutions.
